Smoking the Tomatoes
Preheat the smoker to 225 F.
Clean and dry the tomatoes. Then slice them in half and place in a large bowl.
Add the celery salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper to the tomatoes and toss to combine.
Place the tomatoes onto a wire rack, cut side up.
Transfer the wire rack to the grill and smoke the tomatoes for 2 hours to infuse them with flavor. Remove them from the grill and let them cool to room temperature.
Making the Bloody Mary Mix
To a blender, blend the smoked tomatoes and the tomato juices and blend until well combined.
Line a strainer over a large bowl or pitcher and strain the mixture. Use a whisk to help push it through the strainer and discard the skin and pulp.
Add the tomato juice mixture back into a pitcher and add in the vodka, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, citrus juices, and Tabasco sauce. Blend again.
Serving
Garnish the rim of the glass with extra celery salt if desired.
Shake the mixture over ice or pour the mixture over ice to serve.
Garnish with the desired garnishes like celery stalks, crispy bacon, smoked shrimp, or cheese, olives and pickles. Sip and enjoy!
Notes
Smoke the shrimp and the bacon while you smoke the tomatoes so you can make your drink and garnishes at the same time!
