- 1 oz Lemon juiced
- .75 oz Simple Syrup
- 4-5 fresh or defrosted Blackberries
- Crushed Ice
Optional
- .50 oz Crème De Mûre for classic finish

Add the fresh blackberries to a cocktail shaker and gently muddle to release their juices.
Pour in the gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake until well chilled.
Strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
If using, drizzle the crème de mûre over the top for a layered effect.
Garnish with a fresh blackberry or lemon peel and serve immediately.
-
Use ripe blackberries for the best natural sweetness.
-
Avoid over-muddling to prevent bitterness from the seeds.
-
Adjust simple syrup based on how sweet your berries are.
-
Crushed ice is traditional and helps mellow the cocktail as it melts.
