Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Vodka
  • 1 oz. Espresso
  • 1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 oz. Peppermint Syrup
  • 1/2 oz. Kahlua
  • 1 oz. Heavy Cream
  • 1 tbsp. Cocoa Powder
  • Chocolate Syrup & Crushed Peppermint Garnish

Instructions

  • Begin by rimming the edge of your martini glass. First, pour melted chocolate or chocolate syrup onto one small plate and crushed peppermint candy onto another. Dip the rim of the glass into the chocolate and then into the crushed candy to create a festive candy cane rim.
  •  Brew a shot of fresh espresso using your espresso machine or make a strong cup of instant espresso. If you do not have either of these options you could also try cold brew concentrate (but espresso is ideal here). Allow it to cool to room temperature.
  • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine vodka, simple syrup, peppermint syrup, Kahlua, cream, espresso, and cocoa powder. Shake vigorously until well-mixed and frothy
  • Use a cocktail strainer to pour the mixture into your candy cane-rimmed martini glass.
  • Top your Peppermint Espresso Martini with a few coffee beans or a mini candy cane for an extra garnish touch if desired.

I prefer the Monin brand for peppermint syrup, but you can also make your own (directions in the article above).
