Smoked Hard Boiled Eggs

Smoked eggs offer a unique culinary experience, achieved solely through smoking, bypassing the traditional boiling method. The eggs are slowly smoked over carefully selected wood chips, allowing them to cook gently and absorb the rich, aromatic flavors of the smoke. This technique results in eggs with a firm texture and a nuanced, smoky taste, making them an intriguing addition to salads, appetizers, or as a standalone snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen Eggs
  • Ice Water for cooling the eggs

Instructions

  • Preheat any style smoker (I do prefer a pellet smoker for this recipe but any grill works) and set it for 325 F. indirect.
  • Place each raw egg directly onto the grill grate and let them smoke for 30 minutes.
  • Immediately remove them off the grill and into an ice bath to cool.
  • Chill to stop the cooking process, peel, and enjoy. Store in the fridge in an airtight container to use for deviled eggs, salads, snacks, and more!

Notes

Hard boiled eggs can be peeled or kept whole. Store in the fridge for 3-4 days.
