Easy Low Carb Hot Cocoa

Make an easy homemade low carb and ketogenic hot cocoa using keto simple syrup, Dutch cocoa, and homemade whipped cream.

  • In a medium saucepan, warm the almond milk over medium heat.
  • Whisk in the cocoa powder and the dark chocolate. If the dark chocolate is a bar, chop it before adding it in to help it melt.
  • Add in the keto simple syrup (you can substitute with your favorite low carb sweetener instead). Then mix in the vanilla and pinch of salt. Do not let the cocoa boil.
  • Once it is warmed through and all the chocolate is dissolved, remove from the heat and add to your mugs.
  • Top the low carb cocoa with keto whipped cream and garnish with cocoa powder or dark chocolate shavings!

Notes

Optional add ins - Cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne for a spicy kick or try adding a tiny bit of peppermint extract and a splash of espresso for a homemade peppermint mocha.
