Ingredients
1/3cupLemon Zest
1/3cupBlack Pepper
3tbspKosher Salt
1.5tbspGarlic Powder
1tbspCitric Acid optional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 F. and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Zest the lemons onto the parchment paper and spread it out across the pan in an even layer.
Bake the zest to dry it out for about 15-20 minutes, tossing halfway through. Remove from the oven and let it cool 5 minutes.
To a spice shaker combine the black pepper, kosher salt, garlic powder, and citric acid. Toss in the cooled and dried lemon zest and mix to combine.
Use as desired on your favorite proteins and side dishes. Keep store in an air tight container.
Notes
The citric acid is an optional component but does intensify the citrus flavor as well as acts as a natural preservative.
