2cups100% Unsweetened Cranberry JuiceReal- not cranberry cocktail
1/2cupSugar
2wholeCinnamon Sticks
2Star Anise
4wholeCloves
Sangria Ingredients
1bottleRed WineI used a petite cabernet
1/2cupGrand Marnier or orange liqueur
1AppleDiced
1OrangeDiced
1cupFresh Cranberries
Instructions
Cranberry Spiced Syrup
In a pot over medium low heat, add the cranberry juice, sugar, cinnamon sticks, anise, and cloves.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from the heat and fully cool to room temperature. Discard the cinnamon stick, anise, and cloves before adding to the sangria.
Easy Cranberry Sangria
In a pitcher, add the diced apple, orange, and whole fresh cranberries. Then add the Grand Marnier and cooled cranberry spiced syrup.
Pour the whole bottle of wine into the pitcher and stir until everything is fully combined.
Place in the fridge for 2-4 hours to fully chill. Stir before serving.
Notes
This can be made 1-2 days ahead of time. Keep covered and stored in the fridge.
