Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Apricot Jam Use no sugar added to control sweetness level
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine all your dried spices together and mix well.
  • Next, place medium saucepan or pot on the stove and add all of your ingredients to the pot. Bring to medium-high heat and stir to combine everything.
  • To the apricot BBQ sauce mixture, add your spices and mix well to combine.
  • Reduce your heat to low and stir occasionally. Taste your BBQ sauce and adjust sweetness or spice level to your desired preference.
  • Remove your apricot BBQ sauce from the heat and set it aside to cool to room temperature. Place in an airtight container or jar and store in the fridge.
  • Serve over your favorite chicken and pork recipes! Sauce is good for up to 7 days.

Notes

If you like your sauce extra smoky, you can add liquid smoke. I prefer to not add it and just use the sauce on smoked foods. Check out the full post for links to all my favorite BBQ and smoked meats!
