This is a no fuss flavor packed recipe for smokey sweet potato fritters. They’re soft and tender on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside. A perfect side dish or appetizer!

This recipe is super easy to make and only requires a few ingredients. Start by grating the sweet potato finely. The cheese and the egg is a binder.

Combine all the ingredients into a bowl. I like to add onion and jalapeno and smoky paprika into the mix as well. You can add different veggies if you like.

Add the egg and season. Mix until everything is fully combined. Do not let the mixture sit for a long time or it will get watery.

I like to sear the fritters in avocado oil (it has a low smoke point). Sear each patty for a 2 minutes per side. Flip and continue to cook.

Set the crispy sweet potato fritters onto a baking sheet and season with salt if desired. You can make a spicy sour cream dipping sauce too.

Garnish with chives or green onions. These work as a great side dish for dinner or with eggs at brunch. The options are endless!

Save the leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can reheat these in the oven or air fryer to help keep them crispy too.
