Level up and enjoy homemade cedar plank smoked salmon burgers using a pellet smoker or charcoal grill for a delicious take on burger night.

Start by soaking a cedar plank. I like to do this for at least 30 minutes prior to placing it on my pellet or charcoal smoker. It won't be going over direct heat so it doesn't need a long soak.

Prep your ingredients! Start by removing the skin from the raw salmon and any pin bones. Dice into smaller pieces. Gather herbs and spices.

Combine all of the salmon burger ingredients into a food processor and blend until combined into a paste.

Form into 1-inch thick patties. This recipe will create 4 burgers total. Place them onto the soaked cedar plank.

Place the salmon burgers onto the grill grates over indirect heat. Allow the salmon burgers to smoke until the internal temperature hits 140 F.

While the burgers are smoking prepare your favorite toppings. I love avocado, onion, slice cucumber, and a toasted bun. Add my lemon dill sauce too!

Toast your buns to add some extra crispy texture and flavor. Add your toppings and the smoked salmon burger.

Serve these burgers with your favorite sides. They are also delicious as a lettuce-wrapped burger too!
