Learn how to make cowboy candied jalapenos with this simple small batch recipe that’s perfect for anything from a weekend brunch side to an ideal garnish for your next BBQ platter.

This recipe is only a handful of ingredients and is perfect for using up leftover jalapenos. You need water, sugar, apple cider vinegar and some spices.

Start by slicing the jalapenos into thin, 1/4 inch rounds. Wear gloves to protect your hands from the oils in the seeds!

Next, in a large pot combine the spices, water, sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Stir with a whisk and bring the mixture up to a boil.

The mixture should be a full rolling boil that looks something like this. Let it fully bubble before adding the jalapenos.

Add the sliced jalapenos into the pot and then immediately remove it from the heat. Let it sit like this for 15 minutes.

Let the mixture fully cool and then pour with the remaining syrup into the jar. Store in the fridge for a few weeks and use as desired.

Use with your favorite BBQ recipes and platters but try it with my smoked pepper jelly recipe too. Full recipe details linked below!
