For this recipe, you will smoked the ground beef over the top of the chili base. For the ground beef I combine the meat, garlic, chili seasoning and some Worcestershire sauce.

The chili base is made up of fresh peppers, onions, garlic, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beans (optional). Don't forget the chili seasoning too!

In a large pot, begin cooking the peppers and onions for about 5 minutes. Add in the chili seasoning to develop the aromatics.

Separately, in a large bowl combine the ground beef chili ingredients together. Mix well but don't over mix the beef.

Form the ground beef mixture into a meatloaf shape. Place it over a wire rack so it can sit easily over the top of the chili.

Smoke the chili for a few hours or until the internal temperature of the ground beef hits 165 F. Use a thermometer to accurately measure doneness.

Remove the chili from the smoker. Take the ground beef meatloaf and use a meat masher to break the ground beef into smaller pieces.

Fold the ground beef into the chili base and combine everything well. You can eat this chili immediately with your favorite toppings!
