This homemade fresh cranberry recipe uses spiced maple syrup and cinnamon, bourbon, and a little bright pop of orange. Made in 15 minutes or less!

This recipe uses only a handful of ingredients. You need fresh cranberries, maple syrup, bourbon, and orange peel and fresh squeeze OJ, and cinnamon sticks.

If you're worried about the alcohol in this recipe, it does fully cook off when the cranberries are simmering. You can sub the bourbon with water or more OJ if preferred.

In a saucepan, combine the OJ, bourbon, and fresh cranberries. Pour in the maple syrup as well and mix to combine over medium heat.

Add in the whole cinnamon stick and a large piece of orange peel. Stir the cranberry mixture occasionally and allow the berries to burst and rupture.

Once they are all fully broken and release their liquid, allow the mixture to thicken slightly. Remove the orange peel and the cinnamon stick and discard.

Pour the hot cranberries into a bowl you will serve them in. Add the reserved fresh cranberries to the bowl and toss. Allow the heat of the cooked cranberries to tenderize the fresh ones added in.

Let this cool to room temperature and serve or store with plastic wrap in the fridge up to 2-3 days prior if desired. Garnish with orange zest and a cinnamon stick.

Serve with my smoked turkey recipe, with holiday ham, or pork as well. See more recipe details below via the link!
