A sweet, smoky, medium heat barbecue sauce recipe using apricot jam. A perfect versatile sauce you can use on most proteins.

This sauce is easy to customize and make so you have fewer additives, less sugar (if desired) and can make it to fit your preferred style!

For this recipe you need: Ketchup , Apricot Jam or Preserves, Honey, Brown Sugar, Worcestershire Sauce, Apple Cider Vinegar & Spices.

Start by combining all your ingredients into a small pot or sauce pan. Turn the heat to medium-low and whisk it together until combined.

Let it simmer on low heat and test taste to adjust sweetness or acidity as needed. Remove it from the heat to cool to room temperature.

One of my favorite cooking hacks is to add a tiny bit of baking powder into the BBQ sauce. It creates a chemical reaction and takes the "acidic bite" out of the sauce. All you need is a 1/4 tsp.

Store your sauce in a glass jar and seal it. It can last for up to 7 days refrigerated as needed. Follow proper canning procedures to make shelf stable if desired.

Use the sauce with pulled pork, smoked ham, pork chops, chicken thighs or wings... the recipes are endless!
