This recipe is amazing for thicker, juicer, beef burgers that are perfect every time. If you're a burger lover, you'll definitely love this!

Start with the right ground beef for the best burger. I recommend an 80/20 mix of ground chuck for best results.

Lightly mix the ground beef in a bowl with your favorite red meat seasoning or a BBQ dry rub of your choice. Seasoning both in the burger meat and on top for the best flavor.

For the best results and even patties, I always recommend weighing out the ground beef. Use a scale and measure accordingly.

Gently form the patties after weighing (try not to overmix or they get tough). Press down into the center to help maintain an even shape and season again on top.

Place each burger patty onto the grill grates over direct heat. Smoke low and slow to get the most smoke flavor into your burger.

Cook until the internal temperature is done to your preference. I like medium or medium-rare(ish) and usually shoot for an internal temp of 135-140 F.

That being said the USDA recommends all ground beef be cooked to 165 F. internally (the culinary teacher in me at least needs to point this out).

If adding cheese, choose something that melts well. You can add the cheese the last 10 minutes or so of smoking to melt it well.

Be sure to prep all your favorite toppings, make a delicious burger sauce, and toast the buns for optimal flavor and texture!

Finally, load the burger up with all your favorite things and dig on in! Find more details on this recipe via the link below.
